Hi everyone! My name is Katie and I run the blog The Cozy Corner! I do lifestyle, fashion, and productivity posts over on my website. Today I have the amazing opportunity to do a guest post here and I’m so excited to share my top 10 Winter healthy habits that you NEED.
The winter time can sometimes be a downer because it’s colder and darker. Self-care is especially important during this time. Here are some healthy habits that can make you feel healthier and happier during the winter season.
10 Ways to Stay Healthy This Winter
Get your butt out of bed
The weather really has an effect on my mood. If it’s raining, all i want to do is cuddle under a blanket and watch a movie. If it’s sunny and nice, I want to get active and do something fun. And if it’s cold and dark, like it is in the winter, I want to stay in bed all day. winter blues can get you down. so as hard as it is, you just have to get your butt out of bed and start waking yourself up.
Add some light into your room
The dark, winter days always have me feeling tired. Make sure you are opening your blinds and curtains in the morning to bring light into your space! It will not only make you feel more awake but also more energized.
Put on lotion
Dry skin during the winter sucks. I’ve also been using this Olay body wash and it’s helped my skin so much. I’ve also been using lotion in order to keep my skin healthy and moisturized.
Keep a skincare routine
My face gets dry during the winter, so it is not only good to put lotion on your body, but also get into a routine for your skin. Keeping a good skincare routine can make you feel more awake, happy, and healthy.
Sleep in
Now most people say that getting up early is a great habit, and I would agree with that, however, weekends are usually my time to catch up on sleep away from my busy college schedules. So I usually sleep in until 9:30 or 10 am. This makes me feel more awake in the morning and more refreshed. Catching up on sleep is super important for making yourself feel more productive.
Full glass of water in the morning
In order to make sure you aren’t dehydrated, drinking water in the morning is so important! I make sure to drink water not only throughout the day but also right before bed and right when I wake up.
Write to-do lists
If you’re like me, you have so many things going on and are constantly trying to remember everything. To-do lists are so easy and helpful to do. Each morning, write a little to-do list for everything that you need to accomplish for that day. This way you can stay more organized and on top of things.
Use a diffuser
I don’t actually have one, but my sister does and it is so relaxing. Diffusers can help reduce stress and make you feel calmer. There are also lots of different essential oils that you can use with them.
Make sure you are eating right & taking your vitamins
In this day and age especially, it is important to keep your physical health good. This means making sure you are not only hydrating, but also eating healthy and taking any vitamins.
